We’ve found that those who save diligently during their working years value a team to help them plan for vacations, time with grandchildren, and legacy planning.
Having worked with hundreds of families, many of them over multiple decades, we’ve found that a 401(k) simply doesn’t give most of our clients the necessary flexibility and choice they need through their retirement years. While a 401(k) is an excellent accumulation vehicle, an IRA opens up a myriad of planning and investment options that are simply not available in a 401(k).
Here are transitions when moving from a 401(k) to an IRA might be advisable:
- When you leave a job or retire, consider transitioning your account to an IRA
- While working, you may be able to do an in-service distribution from your 401(k)
